TIME Magazine: The 100 Best Children’s Books of All Time

Sometimes it’s hard to find the perfect children’s book. You want to choose the most meaningful, the funniest, the most powerful, engaging, best of the best book! While most books are pretty awesome, it’s great to have a list with some of the best children’s books already compiled. TIME magazine’s 100 Best Children’s Books is one of my go-to resources for book recommendations, ideas for blog posts, baby shower gifts, new books for Ava, etc.

As TIME has been a reliable news source for almost 100 years, they are a trusted authority compiling this list. The books were chosen with the help of industry specialists such as U.S. Children’s Poet Laureate Kenn Nesbitt, children’s-book historian Leonard Marcus, the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature, the Young Readers Center at the Library of Congress, the Every Child a Reader literacy foundation and 10 independent booksellers.

This is a great guide for first time parents building up their baby’s library, or for seasoned parents needing to update their library for baby number two or three. The list also provides some wonderful gift ideas for baby showers, holiday, birthdays, or just something to pick up at the library.

And some books I’m excited to try:

As the author of a children’s book blog I’m ashamed to say I’ve only read 44 books on the list. Guess it’s time to go to the library! I’ve included a printable here to track how many books you’ve read.
